Forbes Top Ten Hip-Hop Earners 2012

The reason why Dr. Dre still hasn't released his highly anticipated "Detox" album is probably cause he doesn't need the moola right now hehehe. He's out earned Diddy and Jay Z in this financial year considerably and even if they put their earnings together they still wouldn't catch up. Dre's earnings are inspired mostly by his high-end headphones that have taken the world by storm. The top ten hasn't seen 50 in a while though... Trouble in the home front it seems.

The top ten also spots Kanye West & Lil Wayne who receive most of their earnings from music and endorsements. Lil Wayne's new Trukfit clothing label may still be trying to break-even and didn't contribute much to his earnings. Drake just misses the top 5 at number 6 and Ludacris rounds up the top 10 though we're not sure where the hell he makes his money, he also has headphones out though they are clearly outmatched by the Beats by Dre ones (obviously). Check out the list below:

1. Dr. Dre: $110 million
2. Diddy: $45 million
3. Jay-Z: $38 million
4. Kanye West: $35 milliom
5. Lil Wayne: $27 million
6 Drake: $20.5 milliom
7. Birdman: $20 million
8. Nicki Mianj: $15.5 million
9. Eminem: $15 million
