What You Didn't Know About Hublot Watches - Did You Know Mondays

Hublot watches were the first watches in history with all natural rubber bracelets, Calro Grocco made the Gold Hublot which defied every convention in 1980. The creator, Carlo Grocco, grew up from a watch making family and designed his first watch in 1967. He formed his own company in 1980 though callled MDM Geneva and sought to create a timepiece that would transcend fashion. His angle was to make a classy, sporty watch that would set trends worldwide. He refused to be dictated by fashion and ended up being the trend everyone else followed. Hublot added a rubber band to luxurious gold watches, a world first.

Hublot is now one of the top 7 most expensive watches in the world, the Hublot Black Caviar Bang costs $1 million dollars. This expensive watch is made from 18k of white gold case that packed with 322 diamonds on case and 179 on the bezel. Another 30 on the clasp at the end of the rubber strap. These rare black diamonds are responsible for that touch of luxury and raising to  million dollar price tag. Surely the reason why big celebrities like Jay Z, Tony Robins, Dwayne Wade and our very own Jimmy Tau.

Dwayne Wade, Basketball player for Maimi Heat, was made an ambassador for the time piece and a signature limited addition watch was designed for him with a subtle basketball theme throughout. The wrist strap features a net-like stitching and Wade’s jersey number “3″ is displayed on the watch face with the Heat's new logo stamped on the back. Only 500 of them were made and sold exclusively. Wade spoke on the watch: “I wanted the watch to have basketball characteristics. It’s a combination of a lifestyle and a sports watch. You can dress it up or dress it down,” I really wanted to add my subtle details. I wanted it to be authentic to who I am. I think this watch speaks to me and my personality. My style is classic and gentlemanly with a little spice mixed in."

Hublots continue with their reign of class all over the world even with new CEOs, the rubber band and other innovations keep the watch's exclusivity and originality.
