SAMA 17 Suprises - Read Between The Stars (Ups and Downs + Photos)

The set looked great, most of the celebs did too, I'm sure you'll read about the fashion elsewhere but I'm not getting into that. Job well done to the sponsors and organisers even though in its entirety the show was BORING! Let's get into the ups and downs of the show:

UP:
There were no awards I thought were given to the wrong artists, even Zakes Bantwini who everybody thought would scoop something (Even Drake never scooped an award at the Grammys). I'm still suprised Amu won best hip-hop but for all the work he's put into the industry I guess he deserves something. (Swallowing ma pride)

DOWN:
Because South Africa has such a vast number of cultures and music the awards tried too hard to please everyone, which we all know can't be done. From Gospel and Hip Hop to Rock and Folk Music; the music selection was just too vast for everyone to stay tuned to he awards from start to finish. I watched from ma living room and struugled to stay awake.

UP:
Bonang did a great job presenting and looked equally as good as her performance in all her dresses. Especially the black thing she wore, whatever it was it looked good. Phat Joe did an ok job though he was "sensored". My question to RISA or MTN is... Why get a presenter you know needs to be controversial to be effective and tell him not to do what he does best? Next time just get a news reader cause thaat's what they wanted him to do right? Read!!!

DOWN:
The show didn't have any real humour from the official presenters which was a big contributor to why these SAMAS were essentially boring. Somizi and Joey Rasdien added some humour to the show which was a relief, they should be considered the official presenters next time.

UP:
DJ Sbu didn't try wear something weird to get attention and Psyfo cut his f*cken dreads.

DOWN:
Khanyi Mbau didn't try to outshine anyone and never really attracted attention. All she did was jump on stage with Professor once or twice in army uniform. It's kind of a disappointment but at the same time I'm impressed she wasn't overcome with the urge to do so. Bravo!

UP:
Minnie Dlamini in hurrr purple cat suit looked hot and she also looked good in the white dress she wore afterwards. What a way to greet guests on the red carpet... Or yellow carpet as MTN have forcefully tried to make it. I guess next year it would be better for all of us if Vodacom with it's new red colour would do the awards. Please Voda... Thanks.

DOWN:
MTN raped the awards with their yellow carpet, yellow cards, YELLOW TAGS that even the presenters wore (Not Cooo) and their name all over the place. One of the presenters was also from MTN, was that necessary? Sin'bone from the start, you didn't have to go all out damnit!!!
