Yes the truth is a guy CANNOT stand his girlfriend being more successful than him. It’s nothing new and nothing personal, a man feels more like a man when he has more to offer in the relationship than his girl. Especially money. Ambition is a big reason girls get attracted to guys and less money implies that your ambitions have decreased. This is what I believe was partial cause to the Bonang and Slikour break-up.
Looking at the facts, Slikour’s hustle has been on the slow lane for some time now. His yearly plan is almost predictable. He’ll release an album with Skwatta Kamp and after that a ventilation mixtape #YAWN. What’s new? At least this year he released Kwesta, an artist under his label this year. Way to go for a bit of variety there. Let’s compare this to Bonang’s hustle… Where do I start?
“B” is on radio and TV on multiple shows in entertainment and sometimes sports. She has her own clothing brand (Slikour doesn’t even have a sneaker). Her own bag range and marketing company. She gets her hair DID free from one of the best hair specialists in the world under sponsorship, she’s an ambassador under Peugeot sponsorship and recently Brutally Fruit got her and Kim Kardashian to be the faces of the new BF Cheeky flavour. Wow, and I may have left things out there aswell. Someone add more things here please. I do not blame Slikour for feeling a bit less than “the man” here. It’s hard to step your game up in these conditions, especially as a man when women empowerment is in fashion.
Euphonik is more evenly matched for Bonang, not necessarily because he has more going on, he doesn’t, but because he probably makes more money. Euphonik’s got more gigs than a 5 terabyte hard-drive which weekly make him a fortune, coupled with a radio show on one of South Africa’s biggest stations Euphonik can easily make more dough than his girl “B”.
Financial insecurity does damage to a man’s self esteem and his pride, the secret is keeping that insecurity in check so it doesn’t affect you. Then working your butt off to gaining the lead again. It’s now harder than ever to compete against women, they want their rights and we are making the playing field more even daily. That means all men must pull their socks up… My socks can double as stockings, where are yours?
