The Channel "O" Music Video Awards

Its that time of the year again for the Channel O MVA’s – the only time in Mzansi when its okay for other Africans from all over the continent to grace our shores and scoop all the awards from most of the categories and make our artists look like garage bands.

The only African artists that I know are from Nigeria, –by African I mean those outside of South Africa - which are D’banj, P-Square, 2Face, Banky W, MI, Naeto C, Ikwechuku and Sasha and from Angola – Big Nelo  - wow I actually know a lot of Africans.
Everyone else I honestly don’t give a hoot about and I’m more than willing to channel hop through their dreary speeches in accents I cant even comprehend.

I’m looking forward to seeing Dineo Moeketsi, a former high school friend, doing her thing on stage and seeing whether she’ll hold it down since she won the search for the new Channel O ‘O-access’ presenter. Which means we’ll be seeing her gracing the carpets of LA’s Hollywood, rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of the industry.
The obvious choices are also going to be presenting the awards – Lungile Radu and Kabelo Ngakane and Nonhle Thema (yawn).

(I thought it was a myth that South Africans love to dance until I saw the categories they feature in more prominently)
