Halfway through the year and the list of the best selling albums has been released with Taylor Swift and Drake leading the pack.
In February Drake released his mixtape ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’ and it managed to debut at #1 with 495,000 copies sold. He also managed to break the Spotify stream record and have each song on the mixtape land on the Billboard chart. The only person able to surpass Drake for best selling albums of 2015 is Taylor Swift for her 2014 album ‘1989’.
For the top mid-year best selling albums, Taylor Swift takes the lead with 2,011,00o units (‘1989′) while Drake comes in second with 1,431,000 units (‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’) including streams. Without streams Drake sits at 965,000 units sold while Taylor has moved 1,328,00 units.
