Talk Ish Then You back it...That's AKA

Congratulate AKA who uses the platform we afforded him to it's maximum ability. Quality songs and now 2 quality videos to his name that will hopefully inspire the rest to pull up their socks and their budgets. AKA is clearly the king right now and instead of relaxing in his chair he's raising the bar. The higher the bar the longer he'll remain in his seat.

AKA has made enemies of the public, fellow rappers and even his fans countless times before; which puts pressure on his next release and everytime he drops it's fire. Back when he was starting out and was beefing with L-Tido, he said he was better than Tido. When he dropped "All I Know" he proved he proved he was more diverse than Tido who seems to just be a beat and punchline rapper. After his mixtape album Altar Ego he dropped Jealousy and a star studded top quality video to show he's trying to play ball with the world not just South Africans. Then he won his awards and started hyping a song with Da Les, they dropped 2 of the biggest hip hop songs in SA in my opinion; Kontrol and Heaven. Then everyone else started upping their "levels" on a rap level;, Khuli Chana, Kwesta, Cassper, Da Les, Reason, Riky Rick, K.O etc and AKA hits them with a curve ball. Not just a dope rap song but a mainstream hit that probably broadened his fanbase to non rap listeners and guaranteed him his biggest radio hit to date. Which he seals with a quality video as the cherry on top. It's very hard to hate on that.

Cassper Nyovest's apparrent beef with AKA is about the biggest hip-hop song in SA. Cassper argues he got the most downloads on a free download service and AKA got and is getting the most downloads on iTunes where a customer values your song enough buy it. You tell me which is more impressive. To get people to even download a song for R2 is a mission. Cassper should just keep calm right now, step back and wait for a more opportune moment to speak, right now isn't it.

The industry isn't effin around right now, you can't afford to be complacent. Da Les went to the States to shoot his video, K.O sponsored his video, Cassper got OG's for his vid and AKA pulled all the stops, even co-directing to get what he wanted out of this. But in the end, the fans win, we get quality music we're willing to pay for. Did not buy "Altar Ego", I will be purchasing "Levels". Would be an insult not to.
