I stumbled on this dude a bit late..but I guess it's not late enough since he hasn't really made it made it. But he's causing serious waves. Now I wouldn't really care if he was making waves but his music was not for me. But when a dude is making waves and got me rocking his music on my pc and car it's a different story all together. The Nikka I'm talking 'bout if you haven't guessed already is "Mr. Certified" himself Gringerbreadman or Ginger Trill as he calls himself now.
The 1st time I head of him was really when there was news an S.A rapper was certified and no one knew who he was. I was shocked, I saw the name and thought to myself it's not even worth a listen so I just carried on with my life. A few weeks later I was tuning in to Sizwe's Fullclip on Yfm and heard one of his tracks "Le kloNkitsi" and it went in. That instantly changed my opinion of him, before that I thought he was some raw motswako rapper for some reason. After that I started paying more attention to the dude and after downloading a few more tracks from his reverbnation account I'm even more sold that "Ginger Trill" is our next "IT" rapper.
After downloading some songs I also realised that I had heard some more of his music on YFM before, but just didn't concern myself with who he really was. But now the boy has made his mark and is pushing harder to breakthrough to the mainstream. 3 tracks of his standout at the moment, "Le tlo Nkitsi" ; "Ghost" and "Realest Ever", make sure you visit his reverbnation page and download these songs. You won't be disappointed (Reverb Account). You can follow him on twitter @ginger_trill and me @ttigersstory.
I hear he was also supposed to perform at Back to the City Festival 2013 but was screwed over kinda like Tumi and Reason and I'm very disappointed since I was there and having a good time. But I think he has a big future ahead of him none-the-less, it's his to make or break. He also has an album out on i-tunes if you're keen enough to buy.
