10. Mo Flava – On TV he's Dineo b*tch but on radio he's one of the kings of YFM. Him, Dineo, Siz & Scoop are the DJ's holding the station from falling. Mo Flava is the type of DJ that can speak about any topic on his show and we still find it entertaining.
9. Kenny Maistry - Commander and Chief of the morning jam on Metro FM. A well thought out show with no surprises but enough interesting content to keep you awake after waking up. With the funny Mr.Thato on board, you don’t go without a few laughs before you get to work.
8. Bonang Matheba – I must say that I prefer Bonang on TV, but “our girl B” is a natural in any form of media. Her show also has no real surprises, it’s just a good old fashioned radio show done to perfection with a good production team behind it. Bonang is like a machine programmed to give clinical entertainment to the masses.
7. Dineo Ranaka – Another girl, after Bonang, who seems to want to take over the entertainment industry. She has Mo Flava by the balls on Club 808 and her radio show is more than entertaining to say the least. Her show fuses entertainment with being informative, which is a good mix given that she is presenting to and for the youth.
6. T-Bo Touch – Though most people find him irritating he puts together a great show. Always bragging or lying about his American celebrity friends, he can be quite annoying. But hey, he plays good music and keeps us updated.
5. Wackhead Simpson – Full of edgy antics and hilarious jokes, you don’t tune into his show for the music. This being the show that fooled Malema into thinking he received a call from Obama, you gotta give respect to that.
4. Siz & Scoop – Definitely the hottest hip-hop show on radio right now, leaving the competition behind. C-Live and T-Bo Touch could learn a thing or two, something worth adding to their drawing board. The chemistry between the Djs is definitely a big contributor to their success.
3. Glen Lewis – I’m not really a fan of his CDs but his radio show is a different story. He acts like an idiot and talks crap, the perfect formula for a great show when you add good music and uNathi in the mix.
2. Garreth Cliff – The a-hole everybody loves. His radio show is all about his opinion on politics and entertainment. What’s so amazing about Gareth’s show is that it seems to have no guidelines or topics. They start off talking about current events until an interesting topic comes up. Controversial but funny and backed by a team who are not afraid to be mocked and made fun of. Gareth is not only a DJ but a genius in making listeners aware.
1. DJ Fresh – It was difficult to say who’s better between Gareth and Fresh when they were on separate stations. But as soon as Fresh stole the hearts of the 5fm listeners it was clear. Fresh is just that guy that everybody loves. He’s also an idiot, funny, doesn’t take ish and knows a good thing when he sees it. His skits, mini-game shows, Tyron and The Ultimix are the unique units that set Fresh apart from the rest.
