For those of yall who didn't know... Lil Wayne quit syrup before he went to jail. This video shows his friends making fun of his previous habbit. Honestly didn't think he had it in him. He quit back in 2009, but still carries his trademark double-cupped drink, he isn't Wayne without it. But yeah... He's an article from BET:
It’s his cup and he’ll drink it if he wants to. Long reported to be addicted to syrup, Lil Wayne recently decided to put down his trademark Styrofoam cup. Though Wayne’s admitted to drinking syrup – a mix of codeine and cough syrup – since he was 16, he’s become vague in recent months whenever probed about his drink of choice. Wayne did address the matter during his VH1 “Behind the Music” special by simply asserting, “I don’t care if it’s heroin in my cup, it’s in my cup. F**k you!"
Rumors recently spread that Weezy was actually attempting to quit syrup. UK radio personality, Tim Westwood, recently caught up with Birdman Jr. to see whether he still enjoyed an occasional sip, or not.
“It really is none of your goddamn business, but as you can see, I put the cup down for a minute,” Wayne told Westwood shortly after wrapping up a London performance. “Aint nothing in the cup but some wine. I drink Dolce, that’s the only thing in the cup right now. But honestly, it’s nobody’s business what’s in my cup, what’s in your cup or what’s in their cup [points into camera] - it’s your cup, drink it.”
When Westwood called Wayne’s decision, “a beautiful thing,” Weezy countered by saying, “But it’s not a beautiful thing because nobody knows what’s in the cup. Unless you come up and drink what’s in my cup, how can you say it’s a beautiful thing?”
On the music front, Cash Money’s head honcho, Brian “Birdman” Williams, confirmed the December 15 release of Wayne’s rock-inspired project, “The Rebirth” and unexpectedly, “The Carter IV” as a collective. In addition, he also announced that a new mixtape with DJ Drama entitled, “No Ceilings,” is set to drop later this month.
